Little Venice The Arcadian Walk Exploring our wonderful city. Little Venice is a beautiful area with lovely walks near the canal and waterways. Group Leader – Judy Loffman Monthly Speaker 25th April 2024 @ 10:30 a.m. The Highs and Lows of a Stuntwoman's Life Our speaker is Stunt Artist and Actress Lucy Allen with her talk 'From Titanic to the Batman. This promises to be a very interesting talk. Hatch End Suite 1, Harrow Art Centre. Stephen House, Finchley 7th May Stephen House and gardens is the form home of Inky Stephen (Stephen Inks), now a Grade II listed Victorian building that has been bequeathed to the people by the Stephens family. A tour of the house and gardens is planned. Contact: Alison Harvey Country Walks Thursday 16th May The walks are between 6 to 8 miles in the lovely countryside within easy reach of Harrow, or occasionally in London, using public transport to get to the start and to return home. Lunch is in a pub or café. Walks take place monthly on a Thursday and all details for the term are given in the Newsletter. Group Leader - Vivienne Gould The Sunday Group May 19th The Charles Dickens Museum Charles Dickens wrote 15 novels between 1836 to 1870 including A Christmas Carol. He moved to Doughty Street with his wife Catherine and their eldest son Charlie in 1987. The museum is set up as though Dickens had just left it. It appear as a fairly typical middle-class Victorian home, complete with furnishings, portraits and decorations which are know to have belonged to Dickens. There is a wide variety of outings – River trips, London walks and visiting places of interest, galleries, museums and homes. Freedom Passes, for those who have them, mean we can travel at no cost and most outings are free. We have four organisers, three of whom lead the group outings. Group Leader – Judy Loffman |
