Welcome to Harrow u3a

Who are we?

We are a self-sustaining group, in that our members share knowledge and skills to create classes. We are one of the larger groups in the UK and part of a worldwide organisation. We are fortunate to have the use of a substantial venue at Harrow Arts Centre for many classes, others are held in members’ homes.

There are no age restrictions, if you have free time during the day, you’re welcome to join us. We think of learning as fun and challenging and value all members’ experience to provide a broad range of groups.

What activities do we offer?

Please come to our Open Meeting at Harrow Arts Centre on 23-27 September 2024. Please refer to our Event page for further information

Browse the groups page to discover what’s on offer and the membership page for how to join. Our activities encompass the arts, crafts, sciences, social sciences history, languages, recreation, outings etc. If you have an interest we probably have a group that focuses on it. If not, we welcome suggestions for new groups.

Some thoughts from our chairperson

The ethos of u3a appeals to me – which is that all members do not just enjoy the activities provided for them but are active participants in the organisation. As your new Chair, I would like to expand the already wide range of activities (dependant on available finances) as most members have interesting experiences and skills to share.

Mission Statement

Our organisation, known as u3a, is run on self-help principles. We have no outside funding and aim to provide all services and activities from within the membership. We all have skills and can offer support that can benefit the group. Our aim is to enhance the lives of members both socially, physically and mentally, with a wide range of activities.
