Welcome to Harrow u3a
Who are we?
We are a self-sustaining group, in that our members share knowledge and skills to create classes. We are one of the larger groups in the UK and part of a worldwide organisation. We are fortunate to have the use of a substantial venue at Harrow Arts Centre for many classes, others are held in members’ homes.
There are no age restrictions, if you have free time during the day, you’re welcome to join us. We think of learning as fun and challenging and value all members’ experience to provide a broad range of groups.

What activities do we offer?

Our activities encompass the arts, crafts, sciences, social sciences history, languages, recreation, outings etc. If you have an interest we probably have a group that focuses on it. If not, we welcome suggestions for new groups. |

Message from Oscar Monteiro- Chair Harrow u3a.
He grew up in Harlesden, Northwest London, went to school in Kilburn and studied Physics at Leeds University. After a two-year stint as a Maths Teacher, he moved into the then, very new field of IT development. He worked in many areas of IT over my 30 year career, ending up in Assurance Management – checking that multimillion IT projects were built correctly.
He retired about 10 years ago and is keen on Badminton and Running. He is on the Board of trustees for Befrienders Worldwide – an international grouping of 100 emotional support organisations covering 50 countries (UK Samaritans is a member of the Group in the UK).
The ethos of u3a appeals to him – which is that all members do not just enjoy the activities provided for them but are active participants in the organisation. Furthermore, Oscar would like to expand the already wide range of activities and to make sure the membership represents the diverse and exciting people of Harrow.
