HARROW U3A Membership
|
Who can join?
The U3A is open to all men and women who have ceased full time employment. The sole mind-set is a desire to learn for its own sake. ‘to Learn’ is interpreted in its widest meaning, from academia to physical activities or playing bridge. How to join? If you wish to speak to someone first, please telephone Sheilah Lowe, our Enquiries Officer, on 020 8861 3821. If you wish to join us, the links below will take you to the Application and Gift Aid process. Print off copies and follow the instructions on each form. An acknowledgement will be posted to you, together with your membership number, following which you will be free to contact any of the Study group leaders What does it cost? Annual membership fee for a single person is £35. For a couple living at the same address, the annual fee is £60. There is a small reduction for new members who are also members of another U3A. For those who are receiving Pension Credit, the annual fee is £7. What does the fee cover? Your fee covers you for attendance at any class, including talks by guest speakers. There is nothing more to pay, unless your group leader produces hand-outs and asks you to contribute towards the cost. There is no limit on the number of classes you are entitled to join. Please look at the Diary on the Newsletter & Diary button on the left of the screen towards the top for details of the classes that are currently running. You will receive by mail, the Harrow U3A Newsletter three times a year, giving reports on past activities and news about forthcoming ones. You will also receive U3A NEWS direct from U3A National Office, with information on happenings in the world of adult learning, other U3A’s, shared learning projects, etc. What is Gift Aid? If you pay tax we are able to claim a refund from the Tax man. It does not cost you anything, nor does it complicate your finances in any way. The refund forms a vital part of our income as a registered educational charity To whom do you send the form? Jacky Gordon & Kathy Westhead are our membership secretaries, dealing with the actual registration of new members and queries from existing members. Please speak to the Enquiries Officer phone number above for queries relating to new members. Jacky Gordon & Kathy Westhead also handle enquires in the absence of the Enquiry Officer.
