How to Join
Who can join?
The U3A is open to all men and women who have ceased full time employment. The sole mind-set is a desire to learn, from academia to physical activities or playing bridge.
What does it cost?
The annual membership fee for an individual person is £50. For two people living at the same address it is £90. For those in receipt of Pension Credit, the annual fee is £8. Annual membership runs from 1 October to 30 September but you may join at any time. The membership registration form gives details of costs for those joining at other times of the year.
Electronic payment
You can now pay your subscription by bank transfer, instead of by cheque. If you want to do this, please email the Membership Secretaries on membership.hu3a@yahoo.co.uk We will send you the bank account details and a link to an electronic form.
What does the fee cover?
Your fee covers you for attendance at any class, including talks by guest speakers. There is nothing more to pay, unless your group leader produces hand-outs and asks you to contribute towards the cost. There is no limit on the number of classes you are entitled to join. Please look at Our Study Group & Diary button at the top of the screen for details of the Study Groups that are currently running.
You will receive by mail, the Harrow U3A Newsletter three times a year, giving reports on past activities and news about forthcoming ones, as well as being able to reach it through the Newsletter button above. You will also receive the U3A NEWS magazine direct from U3A National Office, with information on happenings in the world of adult learning, other U3A’s, shared learning projects, etc.
What is Gift Aid?
If you pay tax (which may be deducted at source) we are able to claim a refund from the Tax man. It does not cost you anything, nor does it complicate your finances in any way. As a registered educational charity, the refund forms a vital part of our income.
How do you join?
