How to Join

These are instructions on how to join Harrow u3a.

Who can join?
The u3a is open to all persons who are no longer in full time employment. The U3A motto is simply “Learn, Laugh, Live”

What does it cost?
Annual membership runs from 1 October to 30 September though you may join at any time. The annual fee for membership is £55.  For two members at the same address the joint fee is £100. For anyone receiving pension credit, there is a reduced concessionary fee of £12.

What does the fee cover?
Your fee covers attendance at all Harrow U3A meetings (both online and at the Harrow Arts Centre) until the end of September 2021.
 
How do you join?
The simplest and quickest way to join is entirely online in 4 steps.
           1. Read the u3a Principles and the Harrow u3a Privacy Policy
           2. Fill in your contact details (and agree to the membership rules) using this online form:

           3. Pay the appropriate fee by bank transfer using these details:
                  Name of account:    Harrow U3A
                  Sort code:                  40-36-21
                  Account number:     01518518
                  Please quote as a reference your phone number followed by (up to) the first 5 letters of your surname.
           4. Email the Membership Team at membership.hu3a@yahoo.co.uk to say you have applied to join. 
                (This last is not essential but means we will look out for your form and respond quicker.)

If you cannot pay via bank transfer (or you don’t have a friend or relative who can do this for you) it is also possible (though our response may be rather slower) to pay by cheque.
 
Please post your cheque, payable to Harrow U3A, to:
HU3A Membership Team, 7 Ventnor Avenue, Stanmore, HA7 2HX
Please write your name on the back of your cheque and include a note with your email address or phone number so we can contact you.
If you have not filled in our membership form online, it is also possible to do so by printing this form:

 Send the completed form to the membership team, address above, ideally along with the Gift Aid form below.

After joining
We will send you your membership card, the latest newsletter and other information. You will then be free to contact any of the Study Group leaders. You will also be invited to join our email news list, for breaking news about what’s on.

What is Gift Aid?
Harrow U3A is a registered charity (number 1009872). So, if you pay Income or Capital Gains Tax (which may be deducted at source) we are able to claim a refund from HMRC. It does not cost you anything, nor does it complicate your finances in any way, and it helps us keep our subscription rate as low as possible. If you want to sign up for this, you can on the on-line form, but again you could print and complete this form: Gift Aid Form.
