CURRENT AFFAIRS
Current Affairs 1 - We have vacancies at the moment for group 1 so if anybody wants to come and join a vibrant, enjoyable Current Affairs we would be delighted to welcome them.
Leader: Bill Garvey
Current Affairs 2 has approximately 40 members who meet every Tuesday. Topics are prepared and led by a different member each week and everyone is expected to contribute to the discussion.
Group Leader - Harry Hurst
Current Affairs 3 - This group, with a maximum of 40 members, meets each week from 10.15am to 12.15pm. The Chairman for each meeting is arranged by the Group Leader. The opinions expressed are many and varied and the ensuing discussions are very lively.
Group Leader - Edward Kafka
Current Affairs 4 meets slightly earlier than the other groups on Tuesdays and the seating plan is a semi-circle. The Group Leader usually leads the first half and a member of the group takes the second half. Discussion items are suggested by members and everybody’s viewpoint is respected.
Group Leader - Val Bard
Current Affairs 5 - This friendly group, with an attendance of around 20 members, meets at 2 pm on alternate Wednesdays, throughout the year. Seats are arranged in a circle and a different leader takes each half of the meeting. The leaders produce their own “agenda” and introduce the subject for discussion, deciding themselves when a subject has been fully discussed.

Current Affairs 5(A) - This temporary group meets at HAC when possible for members who cannot use Zoom.
