Getting a Likeness/ Portrait Drawing and Painting
Both these groups, always with a live model, concentrate on learning how best to draw or paint the features of a face, in any medium of their choice. The aim is to attain the true likeness of the model by developing an accuracy of form and shading. Course Leader - Danny Green.
Harrow Art Studio
Our group meets every week and we paint in all kinds of media. We have three demonstrations/presentations per term, on different topics (landscape, portrait, pastels, flowers etc.) with time to finish our work in between. Members of the group give demos as well as the group leaders and once a term we have a visiting artist.
Group Leaders – Sandra Levy & Mireille Altman.
The class is fully tutored and structured, but conducted in a spirit of fun. People who would like to join should have some experience of drawing and painting (it is not suitable for absolute beginners) and certainly advanced artists will be able to work in this environment.
Group Leader - Michael Richman
Mixed Media Workshop
This group of 28 members work on their own projects in oils, acrylics, water colour, pastel or pencils and sometimes a mixture of these media. It is not a taught class, but there are several people within the class who willingly give help and advice to anyone in need. A critique at the end of each session aims to give positive advice and appreciation. Group Leaders - Sandy Myrants and Maureen MacDougall.
Water colour painting
This class is a medium of purity and transparency. If you have an urge to paint come along to share the joy of this dynamic medium. Guidance and support will be at hand. The group meets on Thursdays at 10am at the Harrow Arts Centre.
